
Structure, organisation and operational mandate of the Supreme Court Registry
The Administration of the Registry of the Supreme Court of Kenya is structured to deliver efficient, transparent and accessible court services in accordance with the Supreme Court Act, 2011 and the Supreme Court Rules, 2020.
The Registrar, as the chief administrative officer, oversees all departmental heads and is answerable to the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court Bench. The administrative structure encompasses the legal, finance, human resources, ICT and records management divisions.
The Registry operates under the Judiciary's Strategic Plan and the Supreme Court's own operational guidelines, with a commitment to continuous improvement, staff development and the use of technology to enhance service delivery to litigants and members of the public.
The Registry is structured around five core divisions, each headed by a Senior Principal Deputy Registrar or equivalent.
The Registrar and the Registry exercise powers conferred by the Supreme Court Act, 2011 and the Supreme Court Rules, 2020.
