These Rules may be cited as the Supreme Court Rules, 2020.
Scope and objectives
(1) These Rules apply to proceedings under the Court’s jurisdiction and includes petitions, references and applications.
(2) The overriding objective of these Rules is to ensure that the Court is accessible, fair and efficient.
(3) The Court may use appropriate technology in its proceedings and operations.
(4) The Court shall interpret and apply these Rules without undue regard to technicalities
and procedure.
(5) Nothing in these Rules shall be deemed to limit or otherwise affect the inherent power
of the Court to make such orders or give directions as may be necessary for the ends of
justice or to prevent abuse of the process of the Court.
