The Chief Justice will on 9th March 2026, preside over special closing of file / tribute proceedings in honor of the late Mr Justice Mohamed Ibrahim who served on the inaugural bench of the Supreme Court, from 26 August 2011 until his demise on 17 December 2025.
As part of this, the Supreme Court has created a platform to enable Judges, Judicial Officers, Members of the Bar and the general public to submit tributes in memory of the Judge.

The passing of Hon. Mr. Justice Mohamed marks the end of a distinguished chapter in Kenya's constitutional history. To those of us at the Bar, Justice Ibrahim represented the ideal of judicial temperament, measured in disposition, rigorous in analysis, and unwavering in his commitment to the rule of law. His contributions to the development of constitutional jurisprudence in Kenya's formative post-2010 era will endure long beyond his tenure. It is a privilege, as a young advocate, to have practised law during a period shaped in no small part by the intellectual legacy of justices of his calibre. The bench he helped build continues to be the standard by which judicial excellence in this jurisdiction is measured. May he rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire both the Bench and the Bar.
